BASICS
DESCRIPTION
Maalaea is a Wilson 30 with a deep-v hull (22 degree constant-v design). Some of the old time Santa Barbara locals feel the Wilson hull design is the best hull design out there for the severe ocean conditions that we generally see in the infamous Santa Barbara Channel. Cruising speed is in the low to mid 20's. WOT is about 28 knots. Engine hours are 5300. (This engine is a 20,000 hour engine) Fuel economy is also great with this hull design. In 2011 Tony Athens installed a Cummins diesel along with a v-drive and custom rudder. (So this boat will never have the constant issues seen with an out drive.) At the moment Maalaea is set up for the Black Cod fishery but can be switched over to fish lobster or urchin. By removing her fish gear she would make the perfect surf or sport fish boat.
Available with this Wilson 30 is a Santa Barbara slip (priced separately; contact us for details).
