BASICS
DESCRIPTION
Taxi Dancer may possibly be the best sled design and build on the sled racing circuit. Her hull, deck, mast, boom and rudder are built of carbon fiber & epoxy. She had an extensive rebuild in 2019 and then won her class in the Transpac Race. Her sail inventory is by North Sails. Electronics are B&G. All newer winches are built by Harken.
Offers Encouraged & Seriously Considered
Taxi Dancer is a proven timeless design from the boards of Reichel Pugh Yacht Design. The yacht is well known and well respected in West Coast yachting circles.
Originally built in 1989, she was completely rebuilt by Dennis Choate in 2018 in preparation for the 2019 Transpac race, which she won. The revision covered virtually every aspect of the vessel other than the hull itself, which was meticulously faired on the exterior, and detailed on the interior. A new optimized keel and rudder were installed, new carbon fiber mast and boom with EC6 carbon fiber standing rigging, new Yanmar engine, new batteries, all new electrical system, and new B&G electronics installed. A new North Sails inventory was brought on board as well.
The result is virtually a new boat (2018), which was, and should continue to be, very competitive.
